Around the Bay 2014: Ride Guide....



Footy is finished, Melbourne Marathon is run, Bathurst is done...must be time for Around the Bay!

In a break with tradition two TdL versions are being offered.... the 250km and the SCX run to Mornington and back.

ATB – 250km

5:00am (sharp) departure from Amess Street. Lights will be needed. Route via Racecourse Road and through to Werribee (no Westgate Bridge crossing).  Sandro to lead the way.

Potential starters include Alan, Jim, Anthony, Stuart (more than one gear, please), David, Sandro and Steve.

Re-group, if necessary, at water stop in Geelong and food stop in Queenscliff.

Dress code:

Team kit with a bit of French flair.  Anyone seen wearing the Official ATB top runs the risk of being excommunicated.

Tapering:

No riding planned for Saturday.


ATB – SCX

The team manager has now decreed that we should only ride to Mornington and back. Apparently his favourite Dromana café has refused to hold his regular table for us. We will ride via Richmond, Toorak and Brighton to avoid the congestion at the official start, joining the main route at Hampton.

6.15am departure from Amess Street – potential riders Howard, Andrew R, Lauren, Graham
Take the usual tour de burbs route through Clifton Hill BUT turn right on Johnson Street and then immediately left down Nicholson Street through Abbotsford to get to Church Street, Richmond

6.30am departure from corner Church Street and Bridge Road, Richmond – potential riders Andrew K, Don, Ian

6.45am departure from south corner of Kooyong Road and Dandenong Road – potential riders Pete, Roland 

If we get separated brunch is at Boyz 4 Brekkie, Mornington, located at the end of Main Street on the foreshore.
