Tyre Width vs Friction

Having just graduated to my first set of 25mm tyres I was curious about how much that would increase the rolling resistance. They certainly feel better and felt like they had more grip, but what was the energy cost?

Imagine the surprise of finding this little piece that argues that there is actually less rolling resistance with fatter tyres inflated to the same pressure. Who would have thunk it?
