When technology fails you...

For those of us that like the all things old skool when it comes to cycling, reading about electronic gear failure always raises the smugness factor a notch:

 

Simon Clarke from Greenedge had a Shimano Di2 battery fail on him in Stage 2 of Tour Cycliste International du Haut Var.

5th again. Absolutely devoed. Battery went flat with 10km to go, so no 53 and had to ride the last climb at 26% with only the 19 cog...

Just downloaded my SRM from yesterdays race with my mishap. In the final kms on the flat I hit over 140rpm multiple times w/ a max of 148rpm

Then on the final climb of 20 whatever % it was, and getting no love from my battery was nearly the whole time below 50rpm and min. of 44rpm
