Hi All from Briancon
The advance party of the Raid Pyrenees has been
training hard in Italy and France in preparation for a grueling two
weeks.
I am sad to report that the weather has been perfect, in fact too hot
and sunny. I gather it has been much the same in Melbourne.
I have
managed to find some climbs to do just in case the Pyrenees are still
hilly.
This week rode up Col dell Agnello from the Italian side (VERY steep),
Col Agnel (aka Col dell Agnello) from the French side, then the Col 'd
Izoard (aka Col Is So Hard).
Off tomorrow to do the Lautarat and the
Galibier in preparation for the Marmotte on Saturday.
The good part is
that this week, on Tuesday the Col Izoard was closed to
cars/bikes, today
the Col Agnel was closed, and tomorrow, the Lautarat/Galibier. How good
is that?
Who said the French weren't nice people?
Stay safe, see you all
soon.
Regards
Lew
